Someone hacked into my account or I see suspicious activities, what should I do?

Why did someone hack in?

The most common causes of hacking are:

  1. Using the same password in different places.
  2. Installing a trojan.
  3. Using scripts containing backdoors or security vulnerabilities.
  4. Disclosing access to random people who allegedly want to help.

I got hacked, what should I do?

Get a password generator, e.g., this one. In each of the places listed below, use a different, randomly generated password. Don't save passwords in text files, use a password manager built into your browser or a dedicated application, e.g., Keepass.

  1. Change the password to your email account.
  2. Set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for your email account.
  3. Change the password to your ServerProject account.
  4. Set up 2FA.
  5. Delete all sub-accounts.
  6. Change passwords for individual services, such as FTP passwords / administrator passwords on the server, database passwords.
  7. Delete unnecessary database accounts.
  8. Delete FTP sub-accounts.

How can I check who and when performed actions on my account?

  1. Account activity logs.
  2. Service activity logs.
  3. Virtual wallet activity logs.
